11th April - Celebration

We got some fantastic news from home that was shared today so we decided to stay put and to celebrate again. Although it was a bit of an overcast day it was still bright, hot and a quite humid so we sat on the beach in the cool breeze. We talked about how lucky we were and watched the waves.

Rain is forecast for tomorrow so we will head off further South to a holiday village, if the weather is still poor at least they will have things to do under cover. There's a nice heated indoor pool on the site.

10th April - Alicante on the tram - Town, marina, lunch and castle

There's a tram stop just down the road that can take you one way as far as Altea and the other into Alicate. We hopped on and got off and got off at the last stop Alicante cantral. The ride was about 7 miles each way and cost us less than £5 for both return. After a walk through the town we headed for the marina, there was a small market and plenty of places to eat. After a quick pit stop of two drinks each and a pizza we headed off again. Next stop, the castle.

Everything is incredibly cheap here, to visit the castle for both of us including a lift ride to the top was less than £3.

After that it was back to the nearest tram station for our ride back to the motorhome. An hour sitting in the sunshine and our day was nearly done.

9th April - Alicante - An unexpected parkup.

We checked out of Benidorm around 11am and set off directly to Alicante. No need to stop for fuel or food.

I picked a site the evening before, it was listed as a new site late last year and had one review only but it was a good one. So I plotted and checked a route. All we needed was a quiet base near the tram line into the main town. It's far better here than I expected, they have all modern services, washers and dryers, big pitches that are clean with water and waste. Check the pictures in the photos and you can see for yourself. The big sandy beach is just a few minutes walk.

This afternoon we just set up then went on the beach, it was too late in the day for much else.

Tomorrow we plan to use the very close tram station and head into Alicante central. Reception has given us all the info we need so fingers crossed.
