Europe tour 2026 - The top map shows the route for our journey home and the bottom map shows the route for our journey outbound

We used a DFDS ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe and travelled through France off the toll roads as much as possible. We used the Somport tunnel route to cross the pyrenees then headed towards the Mediterainian coast following it down as far as Gibraltar. The weather forecast for Portugal was poor so  we decided to head back the way we come using different roads if possible and stopping at new places.
