Day 1 - Brighton Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

The tour begins on home turf with a trip from home down to the Brighton Caravan and Motorhome club site. This is a convienient campsite as it's a short run across the coast road and on to Newhaven ferry terminal, we didn't want to run the risk of being stuck in traffic and miss our once per day crossing. We have been to this club site before, It's on the edge of the town and has a bus stop not too far away that will take you into the centre. The town is great but we have no plans to go there today, it's time to relax before cooking something for dinner later.

Our ferry is due to depart at 09:30 in the morning and docks at Dieppe France about 14:45 so around 4 hours. We booked a cabin as it was not too much more money, it will give us a chance to drop our stuff, take a shower and then grab some breakfast. With club discount it works out cheaper than both the Calais ferry and the tunnel, it also saves 80 miles driving distance and the road tolls that go with it.

From Dieppe our plan will be to head for Honfleur via a supermaket to stock back up on the meat and dairy items you can't bring into Europe. From Dieppe the journey will be about 73 miles and will take us across the river Seine.
